What happens when you need money and you're an actor?  You take any role that someone will throw at you and Dead Men Walk is one of those kinds of movies.  Dwight deserved so much better than this.  The movie in and of itself could be great "good-bad movie" material if it wasn't for one major problem:  the lighting.  So much of this movie is cast in darkness that everything else is lost.

The plot?  George Zucco plays a good twin who has just murdered his evil twin in an attempt to save humanity from his evilness.  Um, doesn't murder negate the good-twinness?  Apparently not.  The police have ruled the death as accidental, but Dwight Frye's character Zolarr knows it was MURDER!  He declares, "You'll pray for death long before you die!" while looking remarkably like monster-Bilbo from The Fellowship of the Ring

The good twin shrugs this off and continues doing his doctor-thing with the assistance of his niece/ward's fiancée.  Meanwhile, Zolarr has stolen his master' s coffin and wheelbarrows it around the cemetery.  Apparently, the evil twin was into black magic/Satan worship.  So he rises from the dead and does Bela Lugosi impressions

The evil twin then torments the good twin about how he's going to turn the good twin's niece into a vampire.  Wait, if the girl is the good twin's niece then isn't she the evil twin's daughter?  Maybe, they never explain.  It'd be cool and creepy if she was, but I think the audience is supposed to assume that evil twin's can't spawn.

A crazy old biddy gives the niece a cross, foiling the evil twin's nighttime snacking.  The evil twin sends Zolarr to remove the cross.  Of course, the poor guy gets caught.  But Zolarr manages to escape when the evil twin turns out the lights.  Yes, you too can escape certain doom when someone turns off the lights!

More evil twin tormenting good twin occurs.  The local villagers are getting antsy because they think the good twin's murdering people in town.  Of course it's really the bad twin but they're not going to believe that.

The old biddy discovers the evil twin's hiding place so Zolarr gets to kill her.  Yeah!  This incites the angry mob into being an angry mob.  They go to the good twin's house to bring him to justice, but the good twin's heading toward the evil twin's house to search for clues.

Unfortunately, Zolarr moved the evil twin from the cemetery because of the old biddy back into his old house.  Zolarr and the good twin meet.  Much wrestling occurs.  The good twin knocks Zolarr into a pedestal thing and it falls on top of him.

Zolarr wails for assistance from his master and the evil twin wakes up.  More wrestling occurs.  The twins knock over a candle and the place bursts into flames.  Zolarr screams for help but the twins are too absorbed in trying to kill each other to save him from burning to death along with him.

Ugh.  This was not nearly as much fun for me as the other movies.  Since rental availability of this title is so limited (gee, I wonder why) I ended up buying it.  Luckily, it was only $10 and it came with two other bad movies.  I feel like I can't recommend this unless you really want to see Dwight.
